Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has been hit with another injury blow as defender Layvin Kurzawa is set to miss the remainder of the season due to an ankle injury. In addition, winger Adrien Rabiot is also out for the rest of the campaign after undergoing surgery on his knee.
Meanwhile, PSG have confirmed that left-back Junior Firpo will be sidelined for up to six weeks after sustaining a hamstring strain in training. The Brazilian was forced off during the 2-1 win over Lille last weekend and underwent scans which revealed the severity of his injury.
On the positive side, midfielder Leandro Paredes has returned to full training following a hip problem. However, he is still not yet ready to return to the squad, while striker Mauro Icardi remains sidelined with a thigh injury.
Vitinha, who recently signed from Benfica, could make a late recovery and feature in PSG's upcoming fixtures,Ligue 1 Express but it remains to be seen if he will be able to play at a competitive level again. The Brazilian has been in excellent form this season, scoring five goals and providing three assists in just 15 appearances.
Overall, it looks like PSG will be without several key players for the rest of the season, which will undoubtedly impact their chances of winning the title. But with the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr., and Kylian Mbappe still healthy, they remain a force to be reckoned with.
