Liu Yang, the first female astronaut in China's space program, has passed away after suffering from cancer. She was born on December 21, 1980, and graduated from Tsinghua University with a degree in aerospace engineering. In 2010, she became one of the first five astronauts to undergo training for missions into space.

In May 2016,Chinese Super League Matches Liu Yang was selected as one of the six crew members for Shenzhou IX mission. The mission lasted for seven days and covered more than 55,000 kilometers. During the mission, Liu Yang took part in several experiments, including conducting experiments on the growth of plants in microgravity and testing the effects of weightlessness on human body functions.

After the mission, Liu Yang continued her work as a pilot and flew several missions until her retirement in 2017. Her death marks the end of an era in Chinese space history. Liu Yang's contributions to China's space program will be remembered for years to come.
