Wang Shenchao, the founder of the Chinese shipbuilding industry, was born in Jiangsu Province on September 18, 1907. He graduated from the Tongji University in Shanghai and later joined the People's Liberation Army Navy as a naval officer.

In 1946, Wang Shenchao was appointed the director of the Shanghai Shipyard. Under his leadership, the Shanghai Shipyard experienced great changes. One of Wang Shenchao's most significant achievements is the wing breakthrough of the Shanghai Shipyard. This breakthrough led to the production of several large ships with advanced technology, such as the "Qingdao" and the "Tianjin". These ships were highly praised by foreign countries and won the hearts of people all over the world.

After his retirement in 1964, Wang Shenchao continued to contribute to the development of China's shipbuilding industry. He passed away on January 27, 1998, but his legacy will always be remembered in the history of China's shipbuilding industry.
